When the Boat Comes in quilt pattern instruction booklet, by Michaela Smith.
The quilt is 54" square plus borders, making this up to a 64" square quilt. Overall the quilt looks quite complicated however Michaela has a way of creating her quilts which makes them achievable to most novice quilters.
Each 18" block is made up of both piecing and applique, you may even recognise some of the stylised coastal locations such as Craster, Lindisfarne; not to mention the magnificent whales, octopus and lighthouse.
Each block builds into this gorgeous patchwork quilt, though equally each block could become a cushion or side of a bag.
We used British Wool Tweed for our quilt, though the instructions would work with most suitable fabrics.
