Sylvia Bag Sewing Pattern, by Quilting Antics. Standing at approx. 9" high this very stylish bag is an absolute showstopper.
Very easy to make with or without the stunning long tailed tit appliqué. The construction method is simple and closes with a magnetic fastener, which we have concealed in the lining. The long tail tit is applied before the bag is constructed therefore reducing the fiddliness. The shoulder strap can be altered to whatever length you prefer, meaning if you like a full length shoulder strap that's fine, or if you prefer a hand held option that would work too.
The appliqué long tailed tit can be appliquéd by the usual fusible web method, or you could do, as we have, and add long and short stitches to the bird giving it loads of texture, elevating your work to a new level.
We have used British Wool Tweed from the Abraham Moon Woollen Mill in Yorkshire, buying the sewing pattern only means its entirely up to you what fabrics you choose.
